![]() ![]() Because Steve got out of jail, he realized some things are not as bad as they look, but he continued to question who he is. Monster finally arrived on Netflix on May 7th, 2021 more than three years after it was first screened at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival under the name of All Rise. When Steve writes his screenplay, the last line of it gives us insight on this, showing that he is wondering “what did she see that caused her to look away?” (281). When he receives the sentence of not guilty, he goes to hug O’Brien, and she turns away. After the trial is over, Steve still is wondering these things. After this incident, and many more, Steve becomes very confused about who he is, and why people don’t trust him. Steve “is writing the word Monster over and over again”, showing that he could not let this out of his mind (24). Also, he begins to question himself, especially after the prosecutor called him a “Monster”. ![]() ![]() Steve already figured out the best time to let out your emotions and cry, and he continues to keep a depressed attitude throughout. This quote sets the line for the rest of his time in jail. That why if you sniffle a little they won’t hear you” (1). The first line of Steve’s screenplay is, “the best time to cry is at night, when the lights are out and someone is being beaten up and screaming for help. ![]() He is proclaimed not guilty and got to leave jail, but his mentality did not change. Throughout Monster, Steve Harmon did not change very much as person. ![]()
